Trucks with 900hp scare me, my 944 and wrx would get crushed and with a 42in lift...That would put the fear of god in me...

Cummins 24V ISB engine ('98.5-'02 Dodge Ram turbodiesels) with an ungodly twin turbo setup (they're usually a single turbo). Stock HP is 245 at the flywheel, with all the appropriate mods this will hit 600 HP at the wheels).

Oh, yeah, they run 51 psi of boost
That's some SERIOUS plumbing goin on there. woof.

That is an aweseme twin turbo setup...it will suck in obscenely hot air though. Look for the cone filter?

It's a little confusing, actually, since it looks like they're not using an intercooler. As near as I can tell, that pipe out of the top turbo goes directly into the intake, the stock trucks have a huge intercooler in the front grill. If you shielded that filter, though, you could suck up huge amounts of cold air straight from underneath the truck - so much room underhood compared to the 944s!

With just a chip, on a stock 6.0L 4 valve Truck, we can get over 400rwhp and over 600rwtq. Thats JUST with a tune. Imagine what they do with Propane injection and all that fun stuff.

They use a Variable Vane Turbo, no wastegate (the 6.0L's).

Man, there is NO room under the hood of my truck. I'd work on any 944 long before I'd pick a 6.0L to work on. Just Saturday my p-car mechanic and I were looking at my diesel, and both came to the conclusion diesel mechanics earn their money. It gets way hot in that engine bay too.

(Admittedly, since mine is a 4x4, there's more underneath the front than a 4x2.)

And this one has 4 Also, not gaskets AT ALL, all machined to accept O-rings

that engine with 2 turbos has no intercooler!!!

The hot air issue will be a bigger problem with the turbos, air heats up a lot when you compress it, so the air will heat up a lot more die to the turbos compared to the sucking in air frim the engine bay. probly entering that engine at 300+ degrees

air doesnt heat up when you compress it. the air molecules slow down, there for the friction in the molecules decrease. meaning colder air. have you ever felt the air out of a air compressor? its always cold.

Take a physics class or 2 . Air heats of exponentially when compressed based on the efficiency of the compressor. Basically a less efficient compressor the hotter the air, more energy is wasted as heat during the compression process. Hence the need for intercoolers. A 'good' efficiency is 65%+.

My guess is on that diesel they are running a LOT LOT of boost and even more propane to cool the charge. Its probably for a tractor puller that doesn't have room for a efficient air/water intercooler and not enough air for a air/air intercooler.
