How hard would this be?
I found a nice 924 close by that is only going for 2 grand...the thing is its an automatic and the transmission is going in it....now, it comes with a parts car (78 5-speed, this car is an 88) Would I be able to change out the transmission and put in the 5-speed one? Just curious...
and how well would a 924 be for a daily driver?

Please be a bit more precise. The 924 is an 88? If so this makes it a 924S. Basically an 88 944 with narrow fenders.
Almost nothing will interchange between a 924S and a 78 924. The trans in the 78 924 is a four speed.

................not trying to sound mean here, but a constructive comment..........................respectfully...............
Weren't you just recenty having enough problems with tools, money, a place to work on the car, and mechanical knowhow, when trying to get/keep your p-car that you have running? Why would you want to buy another problem child?
Again, not trying to sound mean.
It I was confusing you with another Rennlister, I apologize.
