Best Upgrade You've Made to Your 944/924S?
Hey Everyone,
I've finally got my 924S sorted from a mechanical standpoint. New coolant hoses, new axles, new tires, the whole set up. I'm now looking to improve on the car as a daily driver. What's the best upgrade you've made to your 944?

MAF kit and/or aftermarket ECU that allows you to delete the AFM.
by a long way the best mod i ever did to a 944 engine.
that and/or advancing the stock camshaft 4 degrees.

Here are my top ones:
Inexpensive
-throttle response cam from only944.com (best bang for the buck!)
-LED instrument cluster lights (if you drive at night)
-hatch pin seats from only944.com (get rid of rattling)
Not so inexpensive
-new (OEM) motor mounts (idle roughness and rpm dip hugely improved)
-updated stereo & speakers
-R134a A/C conversion (if your A/C doesn't work)
-Koni yellow shocks (even with stock springs)... big improvement in firming up the ride/handling with nice ride comfort
Inexpensive

As Tom mentioned, while not exactly an upgrade I was shocked how different my car felt after new OEM motor mounts. Like new!

For me, my '86 944 and my budget over 10 yrs, my best bang for buck was:
16x7 and 16x8 fuchs with quality tyres
koni yellow sports shocks
26.8 mm and 18 mm f&r sways with new bushings
Front swaybar triangulating brackets
Only944 shift lever, short shift kit and shift linkage arm
sports seats
944MAX chip
LED instrument lighting
LED interior lights
All new suspension bushings front and rear (including updated 968 camber blocks), new engine mounts and strut mounts.
lower A arm brace paired with strut brace
