I tried searching but nothing really came up so I figure I'll just ask...
I'm 6'6" and i'm looking for drivers in my situation. What mods did you have to do (if any) to make more room in your 944s? I'm looking to purchase either a 951 or an S2000. I know that I can make it work with the S2K but I have yet to drive a 951. I've sat in a couple and do remember that they are roomier than the S2K however it was still a bit tight from the factory.
I know the obvious mod would be aftermarket fixed racing seats (recaro Pole position is my personal Fav) however are there any RS style door panels available for the 944?
Lets see how many tall guys own these cars also...

I'm 6'4 and don't have any problems in the 951, with the stock seats I can fit with a helmet on without any problems.
With fixed back sparcos, because they sit more upright, I actually have a slight head clearance problem, but using more of an angle to mount them on should cure that.
Are you going to be tracking the car? or just weekend drives, or a daily driver?
I would go sit in one to see how the interior fits you, everyone is different, but I feel very at home in my 951......

Well at 6'2 I fit perfectly in the s2000 and I could grow a few inches and still fit in my 968. Question is where is your height ? What's your inseam?

I am a 'short' 6'3" and don't have a problem with a helmet in my car (944S2) with stock seats. I do rake the seat back a couple of degrees, but not like the 'bling bling' crowd does. In reality, my seating position is rather upright, especially when I'm driving the car on the track!
My plan is to get the race seats soon, but not because of the lack of headroom.

I suppose it might depend on if you're built tall in the torso or leg. I'm 6'3" (all leg, ha) and it is very hard to heel & toe due to the awkward position of my leg & knee (needed to clear the bottom of the steering wheel). The seat is all the way back. Headroom is acceptable.

My husband is 6' 3" and has no problems fitting in the driver's seat of my 951 (when I let him drive it
) In fact, he says that the the Porsche is the most comfortable car he's ever driven (his daily driver is a Saab 9-3, which has plenty of legroom.)

6'-3" Plenty of room in the 951, the S2000 is a liitle difficult....headroom is OK but with the top up it is tough to see a traffic light if your the first in line.

I'm 6'5" and the first time I sat in a 944 (my old 83) I was quite surprised at how much room I had. My height is all in my legs too, my inseam is 36, but I still have about 2 more notches for my seat to be back all the way; I like to have it tilted back quite far too, so there is only about a 2 inch space between the back of my seat and the rear seat; It is not possible for me to take a 3rd passenger. One mod that helped is having a smaller steering wheel, I have a vintage MOMO, so the lesser diameter gave me a bit of space...my knees are still high up though, and I have size 14 feet so heel-toeing is kinda hard...

I am just over 6 feet tall, however I have driven in nickhance's 951 and he seemed to have no trouble at all and he must be at least 3 inches taller than myself. His car has a stock interior as well, but 6' 6" may be pushing the limit of needing an aftermarket seat.

I am 6'5" and with shoes ~ 6'6"-6'7" and I fit in my 84 quite well. I have a 36" inseam, and a 15 shoe, so again heel toe in difficult. I have a nice amount of head room, and actually could put my seat back farther yet, but I liked to drive "cramped" when racing. I have stock seats in my 84' and an OMP fixed back in my 83'. I have not tried a helmet on in the 83' yet though. The later chassis 85.5 and after have more leg room yet. My biggest hangup is the stock steering wheel is to BIG, and I cannot rotate my heel and knee to properly execute a heel-toe downshift. I am planning on getting different pedals...Vostek, or the ones the "Porsche/944...not OEM" were offered through here as a group buy. I was thinking on a steering wheel that is 340mm like the MOMO Champion, or for the 83' race car a MOMO Apache with the "flattened bottom" D-shaped wheel. What do you all think?? Any suggestions?
TIA!
TIA!

6'4" here and I fit just fine... though I wished for just 1 more notch back with the seat. Wearing a fitted ball cap had the button up top just brushing the lower parts of the sunroof. You should be fine if you don't mind kicking the seat back (reclining) a tiny bit.. more if you plan on AutoX/DEs.
