Exclamation Seats, height and legs, oh my!

My big brother, who's 6' 4", never had a hard time fitting into my other 944.

As for me, I've got a wierd situation, in that I am 5' 6" tall, but with a 34" inseam!

I have two setting on the seat I like, one for driving in traffic, so my hand is closer to the shifter, and then further back a notch, so my legs are more comfortable. But then, I have to really lean forward to shift!

The only funny thing is that my boyfriend, who's 5' 10" tall, has the same inseam as me, so we never have to adjust the seats for each other, lol.

I'm 6' 3", 36 inseam. No problem with the 944. I tried most other sports cars at the latest auto show - no go for miata or S2000. I did love the way I fit in the 350Z - would love to get one of those.

6'5... plenty of room.. all legs, usually have to sit with the seat all the way back.. not the case in the 944's

6ft4-ish and I have drive both early and late models. The only thing I find is that my knees are around the steering wheel, but I've got used to it. Not like karting where I loose skin off my knuckles and my knees.

I'm not sure what i was thinking, i could have sworn he did. But anyway sorry for the confusion!

Good Luck with your seats Matt!

DAMN!!!!! I thought he found the holy grail. Most cars are bolted through the floorboard, these are bolted INTO the floorboard to a reinforced section of undercarriage.

Sorry to get you all excited and then let you down! I don't know enough about the seat rail mechanism to understand the problem in this case. Next time i'm poking around under the car i'll look around....

Again Good Luck with yours!

No problem, the way the rails work is that they are bolted to the floor using allen key head screws (for lack of a better term). They screw into the floor board (a reinforced peice or it) and the slider slides over the top of the screw (if they are not screwed down all the way you cannot move the seat!). The seat is screwed to the rails directly. If you remove the rails then you have two female openings. Believe it or not this can be overcome by building a bracket like so |_ with another _ on the top. If i was a welder I would have done this already but as I am not, I am going to have to pay someone to do it for me.

I'm about 6'2 and my car fits me like a glove. I've actually got room to spare. At least 2 inches of headroom and definitly some extra legroom too. I'm pretty damn skinny, so no problems at all as far as shoulder/waist/hip room.
