I just painted my cab Carmine Red, wanted to stay in the Porsche family colors. If I strayed I would have painted it Sakhir Orange, like my ex e36 cab. With the curves on the 944 and the light changing properties of the paint, i think it would have turned out great

I’ll look at those, I am always open to different colors. Sad this is a color change can be a pain but I am seriously considering it. I’ve painted a few myself including the orange one.

Some times the cheap small repairs are most valuable... like wiring not hanging in your face from the dome light or visors in your way.

If only getting my dome lights working in the 968 were cheap! Had them working after a trip to the dealer for troubleshooting, but when I put everything back in place, went from original problem of always on, to resolved by dealer, and when I buttoned everything up, now power locks and interior lights don't work at all.

Took the 944S out for its first offical drive. Shes tagged and registered now. I must say I am pretty pleased with an NA now, after coming from a 380hp 951 I was very worried. There is a very noticable flat spot at mid range but like others said if you keep it in the upper rpm range it’s a quick car. If the rpm is in the low range feels like your flooring it but not going anywhere lol. Still have things to sort out but may enjoy the simple NA as much if not more.

Still may get the V8 though lol

Well cleaned up the interior a bit with some SEM vinyl paint and a good vacuum. I had lots of brown spots in the LQ vinyl. The center console was almost all dark brown lol. This stuff actually works great, I tried the duplicolor one before but honestly the SEM holds way better and matches very well to the original.

Interior still needs:
Shift Boot
Shift **** Cap
Replace Switch Trim On Passenger Side
Dash Cap (May Recover or Just Dash Mat)
CS Center Console Tray
Steering Wheel
May Install Black Door Handles, Arm Rest, Speaker Grills and Map Pockets

Well decided to take off the valve cover and replace the tensioner chain pads. Apparently looks like it was done not long ago. Valve cover gasket was new (figured since the cover was painted). The tensioner pad had no cracks I saw and didn’t even appear to be grooved from the chain yet. So with that in mind I made the decision to hold off and replace it later if I don’t do the v8 swap.

Well started working on my 951 front bumper install. I trimed the fenders and mounted the bumper. Currently without the aluminum bumper. I still need a few things such as the head covers, nose panel, turn signals and possibly the aluminum bar. Haven’t decided if I am deleting the headlights or keeping them yet. Need to rework the fenders a little more but getting there.

My nose panel isn’t bolted in place if anyone is wondering just set it there temporarily.

I'd missed the updates with the painted interior: looks great!

Have you decided on a color for the car?

Finally, since I haven't done any reading on it myself, how long did it take you to remove the valve cover to inspect the chain tensioner pads? I don't completely trust the PO of my car for that kind of work and he claimed that he did the timing belt. I figure if I'm going to get into the timing belt (and balance belt, where I might have an issue), I'd take a look at that very tiny but critical piece.

Ooof- its gonna be a journey to get this car back to fighting trim. But I have seen worse come back, so anything is possible. +1 on the wallet padding, and don't be bashful; about asking the Rennlist community for parts- everyone has a pile or two of parts that could spare a part to be donated to a good cause! Or "donated" pretty cheaply.

I think I am going to keep it red for now, just easier to repaint. But my mind may change as I continue lol. It didn’t take long I had it off in roughly 15min. Just take your time and wake up the bolts by tapping on them before you turn them just in case. Don’t have to tap hard and you will most likely need to unhook the fuel lines but if you are just inspecting you don’t mainly for replacement.
