Angry Busted Front Sway Bar Mount Point

I was supposed to head for the track tomorrow night. Then I found metallurgical carnage where the sway bar support bolts to the frame (front right).

It looks like the spot welds started to give then the rest just tore. Anyone seen this before? What is the recommended way to repair it?

on some factory hi-spec cars (turbo cup?) they welded a reinforcing plate over this area maybe 6" long by 1/8" thick (approximate numbers).

so that's a good place to start with a repair.

Thanks, Spencer. That is along the lines of what I was thinking. Maybe someone has a photo of a completed repair or a ready-made piece.
I'll fabricate one if need be, though.

Weld nuts to the back of the plate and drill out the failed holes in the chassis to accommodate the nut.

Might as well reinforce both sides while you're at it.

I have been thinking of a problem like your`s.

Here is one option, to triangulate the mounts.

https://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod2...r-bracket-944/

I would make a plate that goes around the frame like a big - U, and weld it.

Thanks to all. I pulled the other side and cleaned it up. Yep, some stress cracks there too. Decided to let a profe$$ional do it. I just don't have the time to get t done by my next events. When I get it back, I'll shoot some pictures.
