Luke, sorry for the late reply, but Yes, I am on Prime. Haven't checked it in a month or two, as the 44 is taking up all my spare time, and its the same stuff that was being posted 2 years ago, with new faces. Plus, I got to ranting on occassion, and didn't want to seem like a jackass, so I try not to post anymore unless offering technical help..

Would like to try to make the run, but not sure about schedules now. If you see me, great, if not, maybe next time. I hate not being able to give a definite, but life calls.....

At this time I think it would be ok, so long as he can keep up and its not a Z28

no it's a tricked out twin turbo 300, putting down shameful amounts of power. I can't begin to keep up with his car.

Well, we'll see just how many show up. There's been talk about how the PCA doesn't do anything, well, I'm working on changing that locally at least. I love driving stuff, but the wine and cheese concours events don't do anything for me.

So, all you guys out there who gripe about not having anything to do, here's your chance to "vote with your wheels" as far as the PCA is concerned. IF there is a low turnout, it makes it easy for the PCA to ignore those who aren't into the wine and cheese thing. IF we do start showing up for autoX, serious drives (like this one) and more driving events, then they'll recognize that there are those of us out here who are more interested in Porsches as driving machines instead of automotive art objects.

I think I will be coming, with the NSX, if that's OK. Can bring pics of the 44, to prove my worthiness...
If anything changes, post it up.
Do we have a count yet? I have never done a group drive before. Any ettiquete tips, rules, car prep, etc. a newbie needs to know about???
TIA

Tom

NSX is ok, don't see too many of them around. Even though this is a quasi PCA event, we've invited some of the Ferrari club as well. Looks like we'll have some cool machinery there since some of my local PCA are into this stuff and have been just waiting for someone to organize it.

Preparation-
sorta like autoX- nothing loose in the car that can roll up under the pedals, check tire inflation, clean windows, make sure you have enough oil and fuel (we won't be stopping for it), bring a camera (we'll have 3 stops for photos)

Ettique-
don't pass the lead car, unless you know the route beforehand
don't spit tobbacco juice out the window (it causes understeer for those behind)
don't honk at cows
don't play loud rap music
don't throw bottles at signs
don't use turn signals on curves
bring your own Dramamine

Rules-
brake late
don't lift
have a good time
keep the shiny side up

The route goes through the hinterlands of Stokes Co. You'll see cows, trailers, cars on blocks, rednecks, trucks, tractors, trees, hills, curves, signs with bullet holes, but no stills (revenuers blew em up). More seriously, the route does go through some very hilly rural areas. There's lots of elevation changes, tight curves, and fun driving. You don't have the congestion like on the Blue Ridge Parkway, even though we're just 30 minutes from it. I measured the route at just over 100 miles last weekend and added a few extra section for more twisty grins. Hope to see you there.

Sound advice for those who want to visit the less cosmopolitan areas of Stokes CO.
