Your lady, Bra on or off?
My car has had the bra on for... a very long time, I don't know if i want to take it off for summer and just see what kinda damage is done to the car or just leave it on. (The car is in serious need of a paint job either way) I am just wondering what the average 944N/A thinks. If I take the Bra off, i am thinking about making a new bumper something like a 951, or just for giggles compress the rat nose bumper I have just to see what it looks like without the bumper shocks. (nothing permanent, just wanna see what it looks like, any one have pics? )
But anyways, Bra on your german sex machine, or none?

I only use a bra when its dry, and only while im driving. It comes off when i get home. The bra only goes on a freshly clean car, and its always cleaned after use. Bras are a lot of work but its worth it. I only have very very tiny chips, and they are minimal. An hour or two touches them all up once a year!

When I bought my second 944, it had a bra. I cut it off with my pocket knife before bringing her home. The nose was fairly damaged, she had been over a curb hard enough to break the lower balance shaft housing where the PS pump mounts. A trashed nose is better than trying to cover a trashed nose IMO. If my car was absolutely perfect, it may be an option to keep it that way, I have a Fiberwerks nose so it's not an option for me. I'm still not a bra guy tho.

I also prefer to go commando...I'm just not down with the bra look. I see the function of course, and as a matter of fact I might even consider one for a long road trip, I'd rather it look ugly for a while than have to repaint the front of my car; but for everyday use, no way.

I have one. I used it before I got the car painted. It did a nice job of covering some major paint defects. Hasn't been on since, but I think I would use it for a long trip.

I had no use for them at all until my first DE, the guy next to me in the paddock putone on his 924S and then used racer's tape around the edges to keep air from getting under it. I used a LOT more tape than he did and still didn't cover as much paint.

Bra's are gross! If you are that concerned with looking after your paint, why not get some of that clear plastic covering that they put on wide-body 911 rear wheel arches and such-like, much less ugly than a bra, but similar protection, though I'm guessing not as much.

My car came with a bra. I took it off as soon as I got it home. I have a couple of DE events this year at Lime Rock and thats about a two hour drive from home. I was thinking about using the bra to prevent the front clip paint getting scratched on the trip to the event.
The question is will the bra do more damage to the paint than the paint exposed to debris?

I use it only on long trips. Especially on the black car which is a major headache to keep clean as it is.
Another thing to consider is how fast you will be driving. Remember the 997TT Porsche ad "Kills bugs fast" ? Well, flying insects at 120mph do some serious damage.
I did a 1,000 mile trip this summer in two sittings and when that bra came off it was lambasted with hundreds of bugs. Some were huge dragonflies. The mirror bras were brown with "creme of bug."
This was on a European highway and my average speed was well over 100 mph.
I hate bras, but they do serve a purpose when used conscientiously.

I'd rather have a few more pimples on the nose of my car than an overheated engine!

I prefer my lady with no bra, and preferably, no top either.
on my car, i do not use a bra. looks ugly. but i can see the benefits of protecting against rock chips and tolerating small surface scratches that can be polished out.
