Is It "Porsche" or "Porscha" Poll

You don't say Porsh-eh with a pronounced eh sound. It sounds like Por-sha or -uh (kind of in between) with the emphasis on the first syllable. Useful for separating the cognescenti from the riff raff, kind of like the secret society handshake.
Some people find it pretentious, but who cares.

Porsche: $70/hr
Por-sha: $85/hr

Norwegian is quite similar to German and like most Norwegians I speak German. I'm not an authoroty, but I'd be very surprised if i was wrong on this.
Fuchs = foo + (the sound you make when you bring goo up from your throat before spitting) + s
Porsche= Porsch-eh (or Porsch-uh)
Rennlist= Rennlist :-)

Like most german people born in Germany, I speak German aswell. I have a hard time explaning Fuchs and Porsche for one simple reason. English doesn't have these sounds, and I just can't explane them. You just have to listen and learn, or maybe take a German couse.

I took me a couple years of High School German
So I know how to do the sch and e correctly!
I think...
ya know what would be best...
someone recorded themselves speaking it and hosted a small wav file....
If i had a microphone...

I think we agree on two syllables.

Whatever, we're not in Germany. It's Porsh. You don't say Volksvagen, do you? I find it pretentious, due in no small part to the particular character of the (very) few Porsche "enthusiasts" who pronounce it with two syllables. Present company excluded; Rennlisters can pronounce it "hon-duh" for all I care.
Really, say it how you like, and don't condescend to someone who says it differently because you think it speaks of ignorance. It's nothing more than a dialectual difference. Tomato, tomato, people.

(and yes we say volkswagen, but as I said earlier our language is very similar to German and it is natural to pronounce it like the Germans do. also, Germans call it VW (fou ve). )
Nobody has said anything condescending so far......
