Unhappy Canceling Clutch Job Next Weekend

Guys,

I'm sorry to have to do this, but the clutch job next weekend is off.

Money I was expecting is not there, and bills I was not expecting are here.

Part of the deal with this car is that it is an all cash program. No credit cards, no debt.

To do the clutch correctly, and the other things at the same time, would simply cost too much.

Let me regroup and and lets look at schedules over Feb and March to see when everybody will have time.

I am not a happy camper.

Crap.

But you're sticking to your guns on the credit issue, so you have my admiration.

FWIW, if Matt's still interested in coming down, the Superbowl festivities get kicked off that weekend. We could still have a GTG.

Or surely somebody's car needs help. Kevin? George? David? (Let's hope his is done by then) Road trip to Dallas and invade Matt?

Yeah, the offer is still good. I might not be here though. If I can find a decent trip, I will probably fly that weekend. One of the other guys can probably pick you up and drop you off.

Let me know on times and stuff.

Oh my. OH MY...........

First of all, sorry your clutch isn't going to get done James. As Brian said, good for you for staying away from the CCs. So far I've been able to do that with the race car, but that will probably change as it comes close to completion. Perhaps not.

As for working on my car.......

That's a possibility. I'll know more by this weekend. I'll also see if I can get the tubing bender and notcher back by then. We could get the cage finished. That would be fantastic. I've also got a lot of small, dirty jobs, but we could really make some progress on this thing before dropping the drivetrain. Let me look into getting the bender and notcher back and check with my neighbor about doing the welding.

Sorry about that James, that you'll have to wait for your clutch. But I admire you for staying away from the credit cards.

Matt, you can still crash at my place. I may be able to arrange picking you up, but I'm not certain. Getting to you the Flughaffen will not be a problem.

Cool!

I'm looking into getting the bender for next weekend (I'll buy a cheap notcher if need be). It's up in the air. I also have to coordinate with my neighbor to be able to weld. I'll need about a 30' 220v extension cord.

I'll know more on Saturday. If I can finish the cage I'll buy all the beer you guys can drink. Yeah. No kidding. Plenty of bed, couch, and floor space if you decide to see how much beer you can drink.

Matt, do you know anyone with a tubing bender (not a pipe bender, they are different) with a 1.5" die? You're pretty connected.

Matt
How about leave DFW @ 9:45am on Friday and leave IAH @ 6:40pm on Sunday?

I will know if I'm flying next weekend by the middle of next week. Currently there is nothing available (that I want to fly )

It would be great if I were here so you could drive the car and help with the diagnosis.
