993...I love everything Porsche though, but I must have an aircooled in my stable of some sort(right now the 993). The 993 is the end of a legacy and the final chapter of Porsche air cooled history. Hopefully I will have an original RS some day, which in my mind is the ultimate 911 that is street legal. All other dreamcar Porsches are far out of my league.

Having said that, I am currently looking for a 944 for a track car and my first Porsche was an '83 944.

Also, when the 951 is updated with 968 body mods it can look more beautiful too!
I can build a volvo for 8k that will beat a 911gt2 on a track or in a strait line? So whats your point.. If you want value or speed then you are an enthusiest of the wrong cars..

Damn!!!!! Its at 16 - 944 and 47 - 993!!!!!!!! We got some fakers on this board! Steppin' stoners if you ask me! HAHAHA. 944 HANDS DOWN!!!!! Ide take a 1983 NA over a 1997 TTS !!!!! 944 looks better! 944 interior looks better too! 911 got a nice rear, but...theres nothing quite like the full figured 944. Front and rear flairs! And the side profile of the 944 rear from the wheel arch, back, is to die for. Especially with the underbody spoiler! 944 FOREVER!

I must say, i wouldnt choose it OVER a 944, but if i had money like that, i would love as a second toy to my 944 a custom Pagani Roadster. That would be sweet next my S2. Especially if they matched! Or even better, a Pagani with a Greek Flag for the finish! Hows that for wild! (yeah i represent)

Actually, a 951 does not need 968 body work to look good! Turbo-Cab with a lip-spoiler added! Someone posted a picture recently of a lowered version in black with the top down! OH MY GOD. That was one wicked ride. 911 what???

Here it is!!!! To whomever owns this one, KEEP ROCKING! I think i may have to get a black S2 cab with Blue interior, repaint the exterior black, and supercharge it! (or turbo...)
That car straight says "WHAT A PORSCHE SHOULD BE"

First of all, I love the feel and look of the 951's interior. It fits me like a snug satin glove and it's perfect for me. I don't need any other car, but I would love for my car's paint and body work to be renewed, as well as a better suspension, big reds, and a few engine goodies. That would be my dream car and I would never sell it.

The only 993 I'd want, if I had the spendoolies, would be the 993 Turbo S. I prefer RWD to AWD, just because of the "step-out-factor" It takes more skill to drive and that's what I prefer.

HOWEVER, I prefer the 964 turbo body style. I think it has more extreme curves than the 993, and looks a littler more wild.

If money really was no option, I would have a 959. I love that car. no explaination needed.

The 964 is more aerodynamic then the 993.. So from a racing standpoint the 964 turbo would have alot of advantages..

Do you have any references to back that claim?

I believe that the 993 has a more slippery body, and thus a lower coefficient of friction. Also, I've seen lots of 911's on the lift, and the 993 has a smoother under-belly. I don't understand how the 964 would be more aerodynamic.

Yes, I do....

http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/1859...24#reader-link

The drag coefficent is the same at .33 but the lift of the car is less (also I belice the 964 had the same slippery underbody)

FYI: porsche changed about 30% of the car from the 964 to 993 (which doesn't include the outer sheet metal)

read it in the last version of excellence i believe
