The previous owner bought it new for $40,811, I have the original window sticker and bill of sale. He was heir to a company that is synonomous with fitness equipment in the U.S., so money was not a big issue, he mainly sold it from lack of use and his wife berating him for too many cars. It's diamond blue so the clearcoat is glossy but the paint underneath on the hood has a few imperfections. Interior is a 8 out of 10 (back seats have some wear due to the previous owner hauling his little dog around). Dash, console are almost perfect, front seats need a little cleaning. The biggest problem the car had was never being driven. I replaced the belts, waterpump, all seals, etc. when I first bought it, and fixed a rattling heatshield around the exhaust manifold. All of those items I used to reduce the price. The car was always maintained by a Porsche dealership, even for regular $75 oil changes. Poor fellow was not knowledgeable about 951's at all; we used the bluebook value as a base and worked backwards, taking $$ off for the belt job etc. I said it probably needed brakes, wiper blades and anything else I could think of, and we finally arrived at $4500. I had cash with me ( I drove from NC to MD to look at the car) and we signed the title and I drove it home.
My advice for anyone looking for a good deal, is be picky, have some knowledge of the model car you are looking at, and have cash on hand. I looked at 951's for over a year, and almost bought one the previous week that was $300 more and in good condition, though considerably more miles, but I took a chance and waited to see this one, and it panned out for me. It's not perfect, but it's 17 years old. I still have the age problems everyone else does, the hard, brittle connectors and vacuum lines that had to be replaced. I'll eventually paint it, and maybe replace the cloth interior with leathe, and do a few more mods.

85.5 944NA / 120k / Dec 03 / $2800 plus $1300 for new timing belt, water pump(rebuilt) and 30k service so a total of $4100. Good condition, but a/c does not work.
