I was watching "Victory by Design" "The Porsche Story" the other night and one model they were highlighting caught my attention and I meant to ask you guys about it............It was a 1980's supercar that had some 600hp? was black and only <10 were made?

What was the model name/number? And does anyone have pics, it was something to behold ;_)

962 Street Comp, although that wasn't entirely true... You can order one through a company named Dauer that was given permission by Porsche to build them...

The car in question was the Dauer 962.

The car in question in the show was the Vern Schuppan 962. Jochen Dauer also made his own version, and was responsible for constructing the LeMans winning chassis.

I would have said 956, they were earlier than the 962. That's just my guess tho. I have a mechanic's hat from a BfGoodrich 962 team! I used to wear it all the time as a kid.
