There is a thread that has probably slipped to page two or three related to S2s and the current market.

Regarding your wife's; is it auto or manual (asking for a friend...)? Where are you located?

There is a "for sale" section on Rennlist. You need to be a member to make use of it. Bring a trailer is probably a good choice too.

Options are good but miles, condition and service are probably the most important. If you provide some more information then you'll get much better recommendations.

Condition is very good. It has 61k for miles. New rubber. Timing belt and all associated have been done with in 500 miles. Will soon have brand new top(thanks to mice) Whatever it has needed it got. Wife never drives it. It is white with blue leater and blue top.

Where are you? Craigslist is always free, the PCA has a website where members sell their high end (low mileage) cars like yours. There is one listed now same as yours asking 24,000.!!!!
If I were you I would clean it up nice, get lots of pics and put it on Craigslist for $18,500!

Yup, for your friend

You'll find automatics on base 944s only, and the tiptronic automatic was available during all 4 years of 968 production. No 944 S2s, Ss, or Turbo automatics.
