The Japanese drive on the left side of the road, and most cars are RHD. But, and especially for high priced exotics, having LHD is a status symbol.

There are a lot of LHD Japanese delivery 928s that have made their way to Canada. The RHD ones usually end up in Australia or New Zealand.
Japanese laws for older cars are very, very strict. Most end up getting junked, or exported if it's something special.

I had three S2s. That's about .01% of the US S2 population. I made an impulse buy yesterday and bought my friend's 07 Cayman S with 38K miles. It is 16 years newer than the newest S2, has about 100K less miles, and has an extra 87HP. It was just a lot easier than trying to find the needle in the haystack nice S2 that doesn't need to be refurbished.
