Thanks regarding the fire extinguisher. I'll check into it.

It was a balmy 40 degrees in the workshop yesterday morning. My propane heater is having a hard time keeping up but it got the shop up to mid 50's by the afternoon. Supposedly a warmup is headed this way early next week.

Yes - it's called winter tires. Chains are crap. So are studded tires, unless you are driving (only) on ice. Interestingly, these tires work on other wheels in addition to phone-dials.

The best winter tire available at the moment is the Hakkapeliitta R2.

Don't get enough snow to need to bother with winter tires.
I just need something to pull out of my parking spot and maybe drive a half-mile down to the shopping center.

The roads get pretty clear from the combination of snowplows and traffic.

Obligatory picture of squirrel.

Squirrel steals birdfood.

I've got a set of Blizzaks on phone dials that I'm tempted to throw on my S, but the problem isn't so much the snow as the sheer tons of salt they spread on the roads here. Even on dry days it gets everywhere.

Look into Nokian WRG3s. Otherwise try a snow shovel...

Yeah - and it still takes two or three good rains, in the spring, to make the roads safe again.
