mine are blacked out, but im getting kind of tired of the look. I think I want to maybe try more of a 'smoked' look.
here's my tail lights (currently)
dumb friends like to copy my theme here...
and.... saw this and thought it was interesting, and different.
basically he just masked off his tail lights wierd when he resprayed his car.
again in the corner of the last picture you can see my car with the blackouts look like from a distance.

I think someone on this forum has 944 lights that are similar to this:
I think that blinker is white instead of yellow, I wonder where did he got them.. I'm searching the net for them and no luck so far..
btw: painted lights on the blue car are the uglyest ****job I've ever seen on 944. not to mention the horizontal placement of wiper.

Anyone have a photo of smoked out lights? Would tinted film work/is it legal?
I was looking at this site to smoke out the tail lights on my other car: http://www.aerotect.net/aerotect_016.htm
I did the Testor's candy apple red that was described in a bunch of other posts. Looks better than the stock orange.

You can swap in a whole back bumper / tailight assembly of a 968. Can get quite pricey.
If ya want to go with the retro look, just get the aftermarket panel that sits between the taillights, as found on the white car. ( ) At least it is a period correct taillight mod.
Oh, and the blueish car's "updated" lights are teh ghey. No sir, I don't like them.

Klearz.com has the Rear Amber Section Piece of the Taillight in Clear.
Testors Brand Paint has a Translucent Candy Apple Red which is used to Change your Amber to Red.
Smoked/Blacked out Taillights are illegal, however the enforcement of this law differs from region to region. Your lights need to shine bright enough to be easily visible. They are also Reflectors for help visibility in dark, hazardous conditions, covering Lights up limits or destroys this element. Niteshades seems to be the popular taillight tint spray for the import crowd.
