Harvey, yes I believe with 80c thermostat and you are reading 87-89c on the gauge, the system is working properly. I've only been into these Porsches for 5 years now so I don't consider myself a pro with these car's. I got early and late thermostats from pelican parts, two autohausAZ, and the Stant from Rockauto. I didn't trust pelican for sending me the right part. I've gotten the wrong thermostat and fan switches from them before.

BTW I wasn't finish with the last message when I got send by mistake

    Hey Joel,
Changing out the fuel pressure regulator turned out to be a waste of time, in that the Greg Brown hoses only fit the later FPR and I didn't know that you had already upgraded to the newer one. So now I have a spare

Just caught up on your blog. I see you did a top end refresh & used a set of Greg Brown's fuel hoses. Some of the rubber vac hoses (to / from the oil filler neck and "T" pipe) were NLA when I did the top end. Roger must've found a source or manufacturer. I see you changed the Fuel Pressure Regulator. I replaced the stock FPR with one from an S4 = higher pressure. This unit, along with wide gap spark plugs & torque tubes (alum rings inside organ pipes) was recommended by PORKEN with the 4.0 chips. I still have the stock FPR somewhere. Hopefully, the replacement hasn't resulted in an issue, but wanted to let you know the reason for the S4 FPR. The car looks great! I'm glad your having fun..

My 84 Euro project is coming along. April 2nd we'll do the TB/WP, Fuel Hoses (G Brown), motor mounts, 86.5 exhaust manifold & stainless "Y" pipe mods. At that point we'll be done, if you're ever actually DONE Take care & keep in touch! Joel
