Default 944Fest 2018

Don't tell anyone - but keep August 3-5, 2018 open for the return of 944Fest. The target is its rightful home - Nelson Ledges.

Stay tuned. I'm sure we'll have details in .... 5 or 6 months...

No. Things did not fall into place.

All good places. Nelson Ledges has been the "home" for quite a few years. Unless the new owners have gone crazy and try to price us out, it should continue.

A couple of other tracks have been used in the past. Mid-Ohio and VIR. I was not at the VIR event, but I suspect it, along with M-O are a bit too high class for our "crowd". 944 owners tend to be a little less well healed than the typical Porsche owner. Most tend to do their own work and some are even able to camp out - outside of a hotel.

Summit Point might fit the bill, but most likely Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta would be looking for big money, as soon as they hear a bunch of Porsche owners want to rent the track for a weekend.

You've got plenty of notice. Make it happen!

Nelson Ledges isn't too far to drive down from Detroit. Never had my 944 out on a track before, sounds like fun!

agreed I have always wanted to see that track.

Calabogie would be even closer to me...it’s a nice clean track if anyone wants to head north of the boarder.

Hey Guys! Scott kind of let the cat out of the bag, which is OK, I was just waiting until it all was finalized to make an announcement. Travis (Rennbay!) and I have been working with the NORPCA on a return date to Nelson Ledges. The track has been completely repaved and now resembles a buttery smooth Watkins Glen compared to the old simulated moon surface we used to play on. Mark your calendars and schedule your vacations, we are gonna Fest again!!! Details to follow.
Looking forward to seeing all of the old crew!

Happy Thanksgiving all.
There is only 1 "FEST" Starting about 2001 at Cleveland Airport, moving to Dan's house, to a few other venue's and finally landing at Nelson. It became a very special weekend for many on this board. Camping at night, more DE time than you expect, fellow 44'rs that have changed head gaskets on the spot, winning a 944 to drive home. There is something for all. Don't miss it !!

Are other cars accepted? My dad's a former 944 owner but sadly now just has a Boxster. I'm sure he'd love to come though.

Of course! The Fest is about the people - not the car. If you can bring a 944 variant, all the better.

If you show in a Boxster though.....
