I've seen this done before. Pretty much just a body kit over an older car. Some would consider it rice. If she likes it and can afford it, go for it. I'd be curious about what kind of condition the engine is in though.

If you like plastic cars go fot it!
But remember, it's a 1975 car!
Why was the kit put on? was it in a bad crash?

also, make sure that the 2.7 was rebuilt right.

Personally, I would avoid it.

2.7s have a bad rep, I don't know if they deserve it or not. I've seen the early chassis/later panels done before and it can be anywhere from a fiberglass abortion to a "fool the experts" conversion.
Compare it to an ad for an early 944 that has a turbo nose and rear spoiler and the seller says it looks just like a turbo S. Best case, it has a real turbo nose (with 951 fenders, lights, etc) and rear spoiler and first rate installation and paint._OR_ It could be an '84 with the later dash cobbled together, a fiberglass turbo nose and beat up old rear spoiler, all held together with self tapping screws and painted with spray cans.

This car looks like the workmanship is good but I didn't see where the seller mentioned if the parts are fiberglass conversion panels or the real deal (bolted and welded steel panels). In the end, the price needs to reflect that it's a '75 911 and that the conversion is more likely to lower the value down the road than it is to raise it.

What I'd worry about is treating it like it was a '97 since that's how it feels, when in fact it should be treated like a '75. It would be a must to check it out in person, to see how well the panels fit, any structural damage that may have spawned the conversion, paint quality, get a PPI. It's a gamble with a lot of money, for that much you could almost buy an early 993 carrera, and it looks almost as good. You'd also be getting your sister into a less safe, less reliable, more problematic, less refined car. But, if looks is what you're after - can't be a 993 tt.

For 18K there are far better 911's to be had.

Put $27k into a conversion yet end up with $40 rims on it...How attractive is that?

Gauges?...We don't need no stinkin' gauges!

OTOH, I think I just found the appropriate place for those early offset cup replicas from the other thread!
