You guys are being tough! What I hate about the conversions is the incorrect interior. The parts to do a REAL conversion arent that much money. Remember though, it will be slow, really, really slow. Buy a set of rims and you are set, for the most part, no one will know the difference.

that's a good looking kit car, but the right wheels would have looked MUCH better.

Put $27k into a conversion yet end up with $40 rims on it...How attractive is that?
The seller was on a local Bay Area bulletin board not too long ago. He/She was looking to borrow late model Porsche wheels for a couple of hours. I can only assume they wanted to use them for photography purposes.

I suppose that's better than wanting to borrow someone's 993TT for a few hours.

Could have even just borrowed 2, there's no pic of the right side! I could see buying it if the price were right, but the starting bid is too high and you still need to buy the wheels. Maybr $12K with the wheels....

The ad reads that they have wheels but are offering the option of choosing (i.e. you can put what you want to on it). It is still too high, IMHO.

$16k for a very slow car with no AC and dead gauges and unknown mileage. It's worth about $8,000 tops.

The body panels (if they are real) are worth about 3/4 of that amount. So I guess you are saying that a running 911 is worth 2-3K?

Of course, I don't know the story. Maybe they started with a rickety old tub that would have cost more to restore than it was worth (not hard to believe with a '75). If that's the case, it would have been fun as a garage project. But to buy it? No thanks, I'll pass.

Brian - these guys appear to have used factory panels, you dont see that often with the ricers. It is not like this is the only one of these you have ever seen. Pretty acceptable conversion, it is little more than a kit car though. As such I would have dumped the 2.7. Nonetheless, it is still well done (appears to be anyway). Just needs to be finished, not unlike more kit cars. Hell, there is probably that much in parts on that car. I think it should be much closer to the 12K range but I am not buying/selling....

8-10K. Its a 75 tub which means it can rust. It looks like they spent a lot of money obtaining the factory parts (interior at least). If it had a 3.6 it could be tempting, but not for 16K for which you could get a decent, correct car. It would look funny showing off those 75 brakes with 17 inch wheels.

I wouldn't consider a '75 911 to be a very slow car.

'75 2.7 would be around 170 HP max?

I think it would suck to have a fast looking car.

Maybe if it had the 3.3 turbo it would be worth it?

If it had a 3.6 Turbo the engine would be worth as much as the BIN price.

I'll second those that have reservations about the 2.7. I wouldn't have one in anything I drive. Yes, they can be rebuilt and last but often as not the owner is not willing to go to the expense of a proper rebuild with shuffle pins etc.
