My car needs to be washed and needs gas. Does that count?

Did around 100 miles running around yesterday. It was great to drive the 914 with the top off.

Sure it counts! That is a fun project and that means it is out, running and you are enjoying it.

I've actually finished a lot of the winter projects I've had and been driving Huey around a lot. Went to Smokey Mtn Region Spring Thing, Carolinas Region Porschefest, and this past weekend Hurricane Region's Winery tour. Need a little tweaking of the carbs, but otherwise running great. Won concours and rally awards at Spring Thing, and an autocross award at Porschefest.

Yes you do. Parked right on the main corner of Trade & Tryon. He ran...kinda... we had bolted the engine in on Friday night, didn't do any wiring except to get it strarted, which unforunately also meant we didn't wire up the alternator correctly so the battery died after a short drive with Bob Chapman. He wrote the article in Excellence that weekend.

At Parade, it was a 2.5 engine. Now, it's a 2.7. He's corner balanced, new polybronze bushings, new gauges, new/old suspension, Rennshift, etc.... everything works. And an absolute blast to drive.

HOWEVER, in keeping with the theme of this thread, my current projects on Huey:
-get and install a Tilton brake biased adjuster
-new rear brakes - still got Pagid blacks and the squeal terribly
-replace plug wires - I want nicer looking ones
-re-do custom (home made) interior door panels
-re-do custom (home made) dash face material
-been thinking about carpeting. When we put it all back together, all the welds and such on the interior are not the best and the floor paint is kind of bad. Carpeting would clean it up dramatically.
-fix one of the rear targa hinge things. the little "c" clip came off and I lost the spring, so it falls apart when you take the top on and off. I have another one, just got to install it.
-do a little re-jetting of the carbs

Install a CB pump for my carb setup, and the SS fuel line from CFR - and drive the darn thing - and not have my wife ask - is it finished yet :-)

I remember seeing it there. We looked at it Matty together. Matt and I were busy judging and didn't get much time to look at stuff. My 914 was at the other end of concour site.

I kind of am too....been driving Huey a lot lately. Been to Smoky Mtn Region PCA event outside of Knoxville (won TSD rally with a broken speedo/odo and Concours), did Porschefest in Asheville with Carolinas Region and got 2nd in rally and concours, did a winery tour with Hurricane Region, and just got back from a REALLY HOT (as in need A/C) party in Charleston with Palmetto Region and won the gimmick rally. Probably put 4000 miles on him in the past 3 months! And he's running great!!!

I am getting ready to paint my friends 914 race car as soon as I finish all the priming and block sanding. Speedline yellow is the color of choice and the car has new fiberglass quarter panels with the flares, 916 front and rear bumpers, and a lightweight fiberglass top bonded on, full cage has been installed. A 2.7 is destined to be fitted. Not mine but I have worked on it for the last 4 weeks. I always wanted to do a 916 kit.

Yeah, we are sure going to need to see pictures of that Jim. Sounds like a nice project.
