Oohhhhh you are so far ahead of my project that it is not even funny.
Can you provide details on source for that carpet set?
The carpet kit actually came with the car. About $3000 worth of stuff came with the car. However the prev owner would always try to get a deal when he bought stuff, so for some of the stuff I had to get more product. This carpet was another example of his buying prowess. He bought the "RS" carpet kit (no rear seats) because - it was a few dollars cheaper. He did not realize the kits are different. It worked out okay for me because I redid the whole car in leather, so some of the unused perlon RS bits went to use on the rear seats in my 912. His receipt shows it was purchased from the now defunct Mid America Design Porsche parts.

And can you pm me what what the cost of refurbishing the instrument gauges?
I went with North Hollywood as I have worked with them for literally years & years. I sent them some time ago (2012?) but I recall the restoration cost to be just under $1000. I optioned to update the temp gauge (required new sender) and I updated the clock (quartz movement). All of the gauges worked as designed when sent in. No broken bits. Just full restoration / update.
Can you elaborate on the update to the temp gauge? Reason for doing so, benefits?
Learning here on what to do right for mine.
And you were so lucky to find one with factory orange paint code... that is the color I want but I have this internal fight of going to original color or saying "the hell with it" and going orange... Anyway, I am years from having to worry about that
Sure. North Hollywood called me & said that they could get rid of the stock wavering that the tach will do when you rev the car. I applauded that. Some type of more exact control is welcomed. The temp gauge was similar but would require a new sensor - that they had in stock.
I think (like the clock) it just comes down to upgraded & more accurate readings.
