Drove it today. Needs some fine tuning but its still w a y cool. Had to clean up a fuel leak (fuel pump hose), and then an oil leak (valve cover gasket). Buts its getting there. Then guess what?! Generator light! Not one volt coming out of it. I will pull that off & check it out next.

Here is what is happening next...
I am shipping the car out to Napa Wine country next week. I turn 50 in Dec and want to be rolling in my '67 in a fabulous area when that big five-oh b-day looms large. I am packing light, taking my wife and little else. The trusty flat four steed will be tested for reliability and grace the whole trip.
PCA has shown interest in a blog while I navigate the area (packed with photos and quotes of anything noteworthy). It could be fun for sure.
So watch for it soon I may need your support while I am out there!

Who was that I passed yesterday? Anyone here?
5 Freeway, northbound, La Costa Blvd. (San Diego County), about 2:00 pm or so.
Beautiful mint condition red 912, original California black plates.
The car was fantastic looking.

Michael,
I'm new to this forum and having just read this entire thread, feel that I must congratulate you on your beautiful restoration. I love the color; your attention to detail; and most of all I love the color. Gee, did I already mention that? Anyway, again, congratulations on such a beautiful job.
Here's a few photos of my car, a '68 912 SWT. I've owned in for about 40 years, being the second owner. Everything is original, except those parts that I wanted to change, like the seats, headlights, steering wheel, dashboard, floor mats, etc. Years ago I decided that I wanted the car to represent and be pleasing to only one person, and that person would have been me. I especially love the color, which may be why I was drawn to your rebuild.

Steve thank you.
What a fantastic looking car (and color)
I am drawn to your personalization too. Well played. Bravo. There is something about the 912. Super handling, warm friendly car. A very honest mount. I cant seem to get enough of them.

Have a safe fun trip and B-day in the wine country.
We are planning on driving our 912 down 101 from Oregon to San Francisco in April when I get the engine back together. Looking forward to hearing about your trip.
