Question Recommendations on Clutch?

I'm getting close to replacing the clutch on my 79 930. The engine is stock with the following modifications:

B&B Stainless Steel Headers
KKK K27-7200 Turbocharger
Kokeln Intercooler (turbo and intercooler from our friends at ImagineAuto)

I would appreciate recommendations on a solid clutch setup. This is a daily driver that is usually only subjected to those crazy turbo surges 930 owners seem to experience from time to time!

Thanks in advance for your suggestions and recommendations!

Toby

Keep your flywheel and go with a lightweight clutch setup.

I use a Kennedy Products Stage 1 aluminum pressure plate 12lbs vs 24lbs stock, and an early 930 disk on my high HP car. The pedal effort is very light and it has yet to slip. A few hundred more than a stock one, but well worth it.

jhunt - The flywheel is less than a year old. Do you have a recommendation for a lightweight clucth setup? (Sachs, etc...)

Geoffrey - thanks for the recommendation. Can you offer some places that sell the Kennedy Products setup?

I installed the Sachs sport clutch a couple of years ago and it works great. I was getting some slippage with the old stock one, and this one is rock solid. It came with an aluminum spacer and all the parts to remove the heavy stock items. I think they told me it was 14lbs lighter, but I am not sure of this. The pedal pressure seems the same as stock. I think I got it from Windward Performance.

Mine is a Sach's pressure plate and disk. Works great with 450hp.

The KEP is great! The stage I is unnoticeable in effort and will hold up to 550HP without effort. We group a little disc that is part Kevlar/puc and organically lined to give a smooth transition. There are several on the boards that are now running these setups and love them. The advantage is they are aluminum so there is a weight reduction without a clamping force reduction.

Stephen (and each of you who responded above),

Thanks much for the info. I'll be investigating the KEP real soon. Stephen, do y'all carry the KEP? Please let me know. Also, I want to extend my thanks to your and your colleagues at ImagineAuto. The K27-7200 and Kokeln intercooler/kit you guys sold me last fall is WONDERFUL! The boys at Norwood's here in Dallas installed my new toys and my 930 really has some omph to it now! Thanks again!

I'm using a KEP lightweight clutch with stock flywheel and it's a great setup IMHO. Go for it.
