Default Factory Performance package

About 5 month ago I stumbled over a 1982 930 Turbo and just could not resist.
The seller had lost the file on the car during a move and I only have documentation on the car going back to 2005. The car has all the right parts for the WLS (Werks Leistungs Steigerung) which is the performance package that was offered back in the day to increase the power to 330 hp.
However, neither Porsche North America nor Porsche Classic in Germany had any documentation that the work was done at the factory. Porsche Classic informed me that the car had been sold by MEHAG, Muenchen. When contacting MEHAG they informed that they did not have files that go 33 years back. They did however check with their service department who informed that MEHAG did not perform such work back in the day. Can anybody give me some pointers who could have been the importer of the car back in the day and who possibly performed the upgrade. All parts used are original Porsche parts and the exhaust has a 82 date stamp next to the parts number.

Could be the original owner had the dealer install the parts or simply bought and installed himself with no paper trail.

I asked the guy. He did not even know about the significance of the four pipe exhaust and the additional
oil cooler etc

Is this car fitted with climate control/air conditioning? If so, that guarded heat exchanger behind the front air dam is most likely a second a/c condenser, not a second oil cooler.

When you have a moment, post a photo of your engine compartment.

Yeah, that looks like the std IC, probably just a quad tip muffler. The 330hp version has a much larger IC. Yes, that's an AC cooler.

Yep, standard IC, I have a larger IC on my 84 Euro Factory 930 Slant...and it sure runs like it has at least 330HP

Hi
You look like you have in your car an Limited edition upgrade in UK or S spec in USA of which 53 were made in 1989 in the UK, not sure about USA numbers, as the run out model.
So someone has probably upgraded your car sometime after its manufacture ,also most likely post 1989 with factory parts.
The factory code numbers for your upgrades are 148 for engine , 930/66/S/SL this gives 10% more power THAN THE STANDARD 300hp (in UK) with amongst other things ,sodium filled valves.
Deeper air dam with integral spots XA4 ,quad tip exhaust,XE7 front oil cooler

Nice, clean, car.

Appears it is fitted with the standard OE IC. Put your car on a dyno or wind out 2nd gear against another relatively stock 930.

Paul, are you saying the factory 330hp power kit option, with the 930/66S engine and associated bolt ons, was labeled M148?

I had that same second condenser/guard setup on an 84 Carrera Targa.
