Did Special Wishes sell slant nose parts to dealers before 1985? Or were they SW only
I'm still trying to determine if my 1983 930 is a genuine Special Wishes slantnose. It has all the factory parts and I'm pretty sure it is genuine. Bruce Canepa was the grey market importer...I emailed him pictures and he remembers the car, and said it was a slant when he imported it in early February of 1985, and indeed the original import documentation from 1985 says 930S on it.
My question is, could European Porsche dealers purchase the parts from Special Wishes to build a slant nose before early 1985? Or were they only available by having the Special Wishes shop do the work? The car was originally sold to Mahag Porsche in Munich according to Porsche Classic.
Thanks for your help...these early slantnoses are very hard to verify.

Not sure I understand your question ?! Best way to be sure if your car is a "works" slant is getting a Porsche Certificate : On this document you'll see all details / options
about the car and definitely know if it is a genuine slant ( or not ).
Having said that, Porsche proposed the slant mods as of JULY 1981 for SC's and Turbo's models.

Unfortunately, the factory did not keep records of the special wishes slant nose cars before 1987 when they became production line option M505/506. The certificate won't indicate special wishes modifications, and these early slants are very difficult to verify. If you have a 1987 model or newer, the certificate will show the option.
I know the slant mods were available pre-1985, but I didn't know if Porsche dealers could get all the parts to build a slant themselves from 1981-1985.

Although, at some point in time, as a dealer here in the US, Alan Johnson Racing was allowed to sell factory conversion parts for the slant nose. My catalogs for this are and related info are dated 3/87..
However, the car In question is a RoW model

Alan Johnson
That would be spot on..
They did not offer to dealers.. Thru1985 Special Wishes cars were all in-house builds, to include those that were ordered or those brought in to be modded..

New I need to find out who made the conversion.
Thanks for help
