Post Intercooler Temp gauges

Has anyone out there installed "before" and "after" intercooler temp gauges in their car? I just did some upgrades (B&B exhaust, SC cams, bigger valves, Garrett hybrid turbo, Kokeln intercooler), and Iim interested in watching the charge temps.

I saw an Andial dual temp digital, but I prefer VDO style gauges. Anyone done this?

OK. I'll keep looking and post results if I find a set of gauges. I don't have the car back yet (should be a couple more weeks), but I put on the B&B headers, B&B muffler, SC Cams, and the Garrett is a hybrid, but I'm embarassed to admit I don't know which one. The papers are with the car, so I haven't seen them yet. I think it was a T4 or T8 if that sounds right. The turbo that I had was a K27-7200. The K27 only has 14,000 miles on it, so still has a lot of life in it. But while I had the engine apart, I also replaced head studs, upgraded the valves to larger ones, and upgraded the turbo. I'll let you know how it all turns out.

Hullar,
I know you posted this over a month ago, but I just read it. If you'd like to pick up a nice dual or single intercooler temp. gauge go here http://www.andial.com/content/930/gauges.htm
It's a pretty easy install as well.

I have an Andial intercooler temperature guage and I find it very useful. It is plummed in at the intercooler inlet and the intercooler outlet and measures either the inlet or outlet temperature or the difference between the two. I mounted it with velco under the airconditioner **** in the center console.

Hullar,

Davtron makes the Andial and Powerhaus gauge (they are an aircraft gauge company). The also sell it for $80 less.

For whats it's worth. I noticed at www.Windward-perf.com under 930's they have aircraft intercooler temp gauges. They don't list pricing but, you might give them a try. Let us know what you find out.

I have a very large intercooler in my 944. The engine management is done by a MoTeC M-4 pro. Along with a number of other features, the MoTeC records the last 20 minutes of driving in 1/10 second increments. Two of the other features are air temps. (ambient and throttle boby). With ambient temps. around 100F, in sixth gear, at 18 lbs. boost., I was seeing intake temps of 55C (131F), too hot. There was no room for a larger intercooler. This intercooler required the removal of some non-essential metal from the car. I had 3 Ga. reservoir fabricated and installed into the spare tire well. "Hope I don't get a flat", and the distilled water in it, is plumbed through the windshield washer pump (no room for a washer reservoir in the engine compartment), the water passes through a small spray fan in front of the intercooler. The pump is wired through a relay and the MoTeC unit. When the MoTeC sees temps. above 39C in the throttle body, the water begins to pump. Keeps intake temps to 39-40C, on high boost (18-20 lbs.) in Modesto valley summer weather. It was not my idea. Someone far more resourceful and experienced than I (probably a bunch more) thought this up. Subaru uses it in their new turbo. Porsche has used it in the past (934?). It works for me. Only problem is that in driving around town on hot days, the heat soak causes raises temps and activates the pump. I have a defeat switch, now.
