Great purchase!

I picked up a Grey Market 930 here in Ontario a few months back and am happy with the car. Can't wait for the spring to drive the thing!

Forgot to say thanks to the members who suggested I talk to Jerry at EPE. He did take the time to see what work he had done on the car and was patient with a newbie like me.

The grey market thing is virtually a non issue. Most states don't even require an emission test any more as they're all over 25 years old. It's a non-issue because all 930s are old used cars with long histories mods etc.
Besides that I think grey markets are pretty cool!

Sad day today...the PPI results were unsatsfactory. I was really looking forward to driving this. Well...if anyone hears of a good one for sale, let me know.

I would be mad as hell with the dealer, "bad tranny,re-paint, roll cage" and they did not mention anything?

The seller is an honest guy. We spoke and I believe he was as shocked as I was. Probably a good buy for a person who is more mechanically inclined than me.

FWIW

You can use what you learned from this experience to hone your search. I always have a list of questions written up ahead of the initial contact. I am not saying this seller dishonest, but his primary goal is to sell the car, not full disclosure. A fair question is, have you put a paint meter to the car? Is there evidence that the car has been tracked?

As I mentioned before, pedigree is everything with these cars, and even though they are all pushing 25 years old + There are still a lot out there. Remember, half the fun is the hunt. Godd luck and keep us posted.
