my '79 is up for offer :)
yeah, I'm asking 'Sloan' money for it, what would you do when you have a REALLY exceptional car? a$k is $69,999 and mileage is 59K Don't ask me how it has stayed this clean all these miles, somehow it just did
I wanna keep it forever, but a home remodel quickly took care of all my dough, so do yourself a favor and at least check this one out.
It is my favorite 930 and I have owned a few, check the photos, I don't know what else to say other than if you know me (perhaps not from this forum), you will know that I AM a 30+ year collector and I have let go of ONLY three cars (all big event, big award winners) in the past 7 years and they have all been WORLD CLASS examples, this one is next.
First person to SEE it is gonna buy it, it is that nice - confident! I know this 930's entire history from new as it has passed hands from friends and family only, and has never been shown or competed in any shows ever
Here are a few photos...hard to tell from these photos, but there is literally not a scratch, ding, blemish, or flaw on this entire original black paint car. The last owner (friend) had the lower sills and front valance simple resprayed to cover road rash and make this a concours car, I woulda left it 'original' but 90% of the important surfaces of this car are...and it is simply spectacular clean. I had sold him this car years ago and acquired it back for me a second time as I knew it was exceptional.
since the engine shot, I have replaced the 'buffer' pad with NOS to clean up the engine compartment...and the one photo of the rear...those are not flaws, something to do with glare in the photo. I also have the original blaupunkt radio/cassette and workshop manuals. The ONLY cosmetic flaws on the car are minor 'warped' leather dash. You can see it in the photo around the central dash vent. I am confident it can be put right, just don't wanna play around and damage the material which is not strained. And the common fading of the black anodized window trim...it is fading to silver (and it is minor fading on this car, just want to be thorough in my evaluation), like they are prone to do, perhaps these can be redone blacker, but original is always appreciated. You can see it in the photo of the car inside the garage, if you look close.
The bottom 3 photos are from when I owned it first time (8 years ago) and the top 3 are recent...it looks better now. It has seen only 1,500 miles in the past 8 years as it was recognized as a special example and preservation mode set in
mechanically this 930 drives as good as she looks. Everything is functional and operational as it should be.
not sure if this post is within selling guidelines? I am not very active here other than to read and look at what you all are doing/saying and I do that daily

... first two replies weren't derogatory or negative, thanks, I like it here
We all kinda figure they are going to be $100K cars soon, so finding the BEST ones is never a bad move, I always pay top of market price for top cars and NEVER get hurt, always a market for the elite examples, that's why I am not shy to be aggressive at this time with my a$k, I feel comfortable the value is there, there aren't that many original paint 930's from this vintage left, and fewer for sure looking like this one, thanks again for the praise

Your comments on the originality of the paint really made me think. I had my front bumper repainted, due to the inevitable chips. It really did need it, and (to me) improved the car. I was also thinking about doing the mirrors and hood, which also have a few very small nicks, but to do those, you have to blend into the fenders, and it's just a snowball when you start doing that. As much as I hate paint that's not 100% perfect, I'm not sure it's worth it to lose the originality. Personally, I've always been suspect of repainted cars.
$100K cars? I really believe they will get there someday. We're already seeing a few in that neighborhood. It would be nice to see that as the "norm", but I think we're still quite a few years away from that!
Since most here already have a 930, I don't think you'll find too many that want to see low values.
(oh, and I was interested to see the panel alignment on your rear hood was similar to mine. Guess that's the way they came!)

Gotta remember that these cars were essentially hand-built, not assembled by robots! There are going to be a few "character" marks in every one of them.

I don't think it's possible to bend them, since the mounting holes would have to move too. Maybe it's a little off, but it might be the angle of the photograph too.

it's 30+ year old paint, it's sorta drifting around after all these years, lol

I spent some time with the car this weekend...snapped a photo to document the 'wandering 't'' emblem. I also provided a photo of a door jam, it was kinda dark in the garage, but shows this is a car that has barely ever been even dirty You could eat off the door jams, original paint, and spotless everywhere.
