Just took delivery of an 86 930. My first 930 was a 78 930 and as the years passedand the Porsches came and went, I always missed the"OHMYGODDD!!"feeling of the 930. The car has 34.9k on the clock and I am the 4th owner.PO wet sanded and had the car re-clear coated and she looks and drives beautifuly.

One problem, i forgot how hard these beasts were to steer. Any tips on makeing them a little easier to steer. Picture attached

That's a beauty! Try a realignment, reduce caster, 0 toe, max out negative camber.

do you have the sport steering wheel or the four spoke rectangular center steering wheel? The three spoke sport and the momo have a smaller diameter which make for harder steering. Mince came with a small momo which made steering a bitch, when i switched back to the four spoke the steering is now a breeze

The car was completly origional EXCEPT for a--MOMO wheel. I have a 930 S wheel in plans for the furture, and I beleive the diameter is bigger than the current Momo. This place is great! Thanks Souuth Flordia.

That is a beautiful 930, enjoy it in good health. Part of the charm is not having power steering.

i would revert to the factory 4 spoke instead of the 3 spoke sport wheel, the small difference in diameter will make it that much easier to steer, nice car btw.

Of course you have power steering-it's done with the right foot.

From the pic, it looks like you purchased her from Sloan. I visited there when I was looking for my 993TT. It was a dream walking through his warehouse, gazing at all the Porsches all spiffed up.

Bought the car from Richard, and you are right, when you go in there ,you get so blown away you almost forget what it was you came for in the first place. I had never been to his new place, it is a lot bigger than his first. He even has a new Boxter roadster there with 90 miles on it.

This may sound pretty simplistic, but make sure the front tire pressure is up - I've noticed mine gets harder to steer at slow speeds when the pressure is low.

rebuild the steering rack. I rebuilt the rack on my 79...steers much easier then my 77. both cars have similar mileage, except I can manuver in parking lots with one finger on the wheel in my 79.
