HOLED ROTORS - yet another example...and we thought Porsche owners had it bad!
And we thought WE had it bad with the cast holes in *our* Porsche rotors?
Nissan GT-R, a customer car used at the track just a few times:
This is the very reason why one should get away from holed rotors....
And also why I am a vendor for Brembo, Deman, and Gorodisc slotted hats & rotors - holed rotors for track use = bad news.....
Contact me for options for your car - limited options for stock 930 brakes, however

That GT-R rotor is UGLY and wasn't far away from causing major problems.
Do you carry a slotted rotor as a replacement for the 993TT Big Reds? Is a custom hat needed?

You may find.........
( Worked for a IMSA light team) That like everything, nothing is perfect!
Ran severial holed brake sets before one had a problem. Dont believe that you can group all brake's that are holed, bad. Sure you'll get the odd one but.....
If your using them for racing, did you die test them first?
I believe it is partly due to the CRAP steel that is being recycled now a days, China has made quality items turn bad, due to the fact that no one can compete with them so they reduce the quality to stay afloat. SAD.

Hey Craig, lighten up and stop with the scare tactics concerning brake rotors. Most of us probablly have drilled rotors and have no problems. If you want to show a bad rotor, thats fine, just don't make it sound like we are all in trouble because of holes. I enjoy technical data as much as anyone here so just present it as info and not a prediction of our future problems.

A re-read of Yasin's post may be in order to see who needs to lighten up first.
One would expect that sort of thing on another forum.
It's been well demonstrated that holed rotors are 2nd in favor to slotted or chevroned - by a fair shot.
They simply last longer and have less problems, period, with much less incidence of this sort of thing happening with a properly slotted rotor.
It is simply a showing of a rotor with holes that cracked in many places in such a way that probably would not have occurred with a well-done slotted rotor.
I'd call that relatively factual and not "scare tactics" -

From the racing & DE forum:
"I'm done with drilled rotors. They don't last worth crap. I'm running Coleman slotted rotors on the 930 (993TT actually) and they last infinitely longer. I also run slotted on the M3 race car.
A friend did a semi scientific poll on the subject. He went to the Rolex 24 a couple of years ago and scoured the paddock. He cold not find one pair of drilled rotors. It was 100% slotted.
You won't get more definitive than that... "

I agree.
I think the chances can be further alleviated by not using holed rotors for hard track use at all.
FWIW I've heard the OEM Nissan rotor is a Brembo unit, not verified.
