oil leaks, where from?
Hello,
I found few oil leaks on my 930,
maybe from your experience,
you can tell where they might
be from.

I have VERY similar leaks in my car .. they are coming from above the oil return tubesso that is out.
I kind off igured between the cam towers and the cylinder head, or from the the upper rocker arms and running down. My guess is between the cam tower and heads though , I iwll see if I can dig up a pic of mine and post.

I had a whopper of a leak a couple weeks ago. There was a pool under the car and it was smoking badly while driving. Turned out to be the oil pressure switch on top, at the back, of the motor

hello,
the Motor was done time before I bought the car.
I am not sure if they used the O-rings for the rocker arms,
need to check that.
As far I see, allcontact areas was ssealed carefully ans accurate
with a fluid sealing.
The freshest oil on my motor on left bank is
at the rear oil return tube and at rear, coming from
from top.
On right bank, I cant see details.
Can I check the oil pressure switch with motor in car?

Will if you do pin it down I would love to know , as I said have the exact leak and my oil sender is good, apparently of that fails it also comes down on the heat xchangers and about where the transmision mounts.

You can I'm sure. But I would think it is way too much effort. I had a rocker come loose in my 3.2 carrera, it was OK to do one. I checked them all for tightness but you might be better to drop the engine a fair amount.

Hello,
as I am lazy, I first wanted to check the "possible reasons"
which are more easy to solve.
I discovered this around the oil return hose:
guess I will try to work on this area first.

I think it'd be a lot easier if you did a "Partial" engine drop. Its just tough getting into some of those areas on the motor. I thnk the procedure for it is detailed on Pelican. If not, write back and I'll see if I can help you with the procedure.
By the way, these engines seem to just "weep" or "seep" some oil almost no matter what. The only time I've seen a really dry 3.2L and up oil-cooled boxer is when it comes out of the unit room after a complete tear-down and rebuild. I don't know what it is, but sure as the sun rises, it'll spring another leak. Granted, they aren't as bad as what you have, but I think all of these motors have a little oil "sheen" on them.

Partial is what I was thinking. Drop the engine without disconnecting the drive shafts. You might still want to disconnect the shifter.
I cleaned my chain covers on my 3.2 carrera with fuel when I had a noisy idler. Anyways, they went white and nasty, a little oil would have stopped that !
Now I only clean the engine with spray penetrating oil and a rag. Nothing stronger.
