I had to save every penny I worked for and sold my other car but the end result was and is well worth it. there is no words to describe the satisfaction of achieving a life long dream. Trust me it was MANY sacrifices. lol.

Defected from Corve....s dare I say it, in 87 when I bought a 951. I was so impressed with its speed and how the little car took a beating bought a 75 911S the next year, since have been through 3 more 911s, a 968 cab and added the 930 three years ago at 37... traded the 951 and some cash after having it almost 20 yrs.. Still have all but two and enjoy the diversity between the SC, the 968 and the turbo BEAST....

Default 100k & still ticking

I'm 45 years old and purchased my 1987 930 in 1999. A few years ago my odometer broke the 100k mark. In addition to some street driving, I've enjoyed 15 to 20 track days each year.

I was 47 when I purchased the Flachbau back in '98 ------- you do the math. LOL
Women may spends thousands on botox, skin peels, face lifts, but all I have to do is hop in the 930S and I'm Brian Redman all over again!
Owned a lot of muscle cars and muscle bikes....427 Camaro, 428 Cobra Jet Mustang, Chevelle, 240Z, 300ZX TT, RX-7, Ducati 916, Suzuki GSX, Kawaksaki 750 Triple, 911 SC and the 930 is the favorite of the lot. It's the best of all worlds; speed and civility, beauty and brutality, challenging and simplistic.

58. Never reckoned Porsches, always a Lotus man, thought Porsches were big and heavy, driven by posers. Came across an '86 Carrera coupe in the local paper paid $8,000 for it and took it home. 5,000 miles later was starting to think differently about them, a year later the father of a good friend told me about a pristine, 60k mileage '87 930 for sale by a colleague of his. The rest, as they say, is history............

Been a Porsche 911 nut since ~1973. It was a great time to be a teenaged Air Force brat living in Germany. We went to Nurburgring & Hockenheim and while my dad and other Ford lovers cheered for the more successful Works Capri RS's (we had a Ford Capri 2300GT), I was cheering on Porsche (proverbial renegade teenage son ;-). An ocassional autobahn ride with fellow fighterpilot friend of my dad's '73 911S and I was hooked. 11 years later I bought my 1st 911 and the flood gates have been open ever since! LOL...

Will turn 50 in a few weeks, but have many convinced I'm only turning 40. See what a blend of good genetics and well placed immaturity will getchya?!?! LOL <snicker><snicker> Getting older but refusing to grow up. The thing that's upsetting me though is AARP already has me on their mailing list!!! Argh! the nerve of them!!

I bought my car in spring '99. I can still remember the first ride - I screamed like a 5 year old girl. Oh I'm 37.

The first time I ever saw one was a 930 was the premier of Star Wars. I lived in North Texas so they were pretty rare. There was one in the parking lot and we were waiting in line forever so got to check it out. The curves were so freaking outrageous. The 930 and the 427 Cobra 2 of the most steroid pumped looking cars ever. There was a high school kid right in front of us talking about the Porsche. I this, I that, it will do 150 with ease bla, bla, bla. I was telling my wife this guy is so full of it. So I asked him about it. He said oh, I got if for my high school graduation last week. WTF I ask. Well, his dad was the Porsche Mercedes dealer so he got to pick what he wanted. I always wondered what happened to that guy. I didn't get mine until 85 and I was 31 at the time.

Default 40 --

Just bought the 930 though. Kind-of fell into my lap so to speak when I wasn't looking. 86 930 Meteor Metalic with Burgandy Full leather int., raised leather hub, monterey sterio -- WITH CASSETTE!, LSD, Sport seats, sunroof, alarm system and tourist delivery are the options. The car has now a quad out Borla exhaust that was installed in 1989. Otherwise is all stock. I will be reinstalling the stock exhaust as the Borla -- albeit looking and sounding very nice -- is too loud for my liking. I also will be removing the BBS 8's and 10's to reinstall the fuchs...I like the look better.

What tires are you running on those BBS's. I have a set of 8 and 10's also and am looking for tires.
