I intend to at some point install an appropriately sized & designed intercooler of a higher heat capacity - probably the 965, or full bay 930 if it tests out to be the right IC for my build. Hard to beat the 965.

I think the fuel head and niresist (cylinder to head sealing) rings will go a long way towards helping prevent these problems in the future.

I'll try to run on days where the ambient temps are perhaps below 80-90 or so.....and continue to use race gas all the time as the PO did.

I also plan to design an air cooling rig using a SPAL fan for the center section of the turbo
to possibly help with bearing temperatures. It certainly can't hurt to have some air to assist with the oil cooling -

Comparing the Kokeln to the blownsix IC - they are about equal in chargeside and core volume - but IMO I prefer the Blownsix end tank design. Conforms to the ideals set forth in Corky Bell's book -
-----------------------------------------------------------
Charged side face area in square inches /Cubic inch mass

Stock 21.4/258
Andial (Garretson) 72.6/508
Ruf 53.5/498
Kokeln 73.0/642 (Blownsix 930 is very similar)

Custom fabbed unit with a K&N. The only plumbing crap I have left is the WUR - everything else is gone......allows plenty of room for goodies, including a planned cool air box.

Bringing in the Tial attached to the header/the through-the-fender inlet pipe/Intercooler/rest of parts
to the shop today. Probable completion this week or early next!

I'll post some pics in a bit -

Virtually finished!
Intake/injection platform needs installed and waiting for the turbo rebuild to finish. Perhaps this week -

Bead blasted fan and shroud, then cleared. Quite durable. Went for the low key, durable, purposeful look. Not a fan of red engine fans...
Pretty, eh?

That cap is worth more than its weight in gold. Wish I had one...

Rocket, if you are interested in the 12 point cap and dizzy, talk to Henry Schmidt of Supertec. He can convert your 930 dizzy. I think he teamed up with "Burn Bros" and adapted a Mareli cap and rotor from a 12 cylinder Jag. It's a lot cheaper than the "original" RSR cap. You still have to work out the coils and stuff. I have some pictures that I can post.

I've managed to count to 12 so I assume this has the fabled twin plug heads. Have you got a photo showing both sets of plugs?
