What you don't see are the fractures that are there..

Craig;

A few miles/hours more and your turbine wheel would have looked like that..

Nice. I suspect welding residue/fragmenting welds did mine in - an educated guess.

Why is your wastegate plumbed back into your exhaust?

Headers cracked, metal flaked off and went into the turbine. Car actually ran fine, but would not build full boost until over 5,000 rpms. Talk about lag!

I have 50 miles of NO boost, then 1,000 of break in before the first track day.

It's 1:36 now, I'll pick it up at about 3:30 -

Starts the same (gas 1/3 way down, nurse it for 2 minutes - no warm up circuit)
Idles MUCH smoother during warm up
Rougher idle (too rich) when warm. Set it at 2.5% CO. Will be less than 1% when the Leask WUR and idle solenoid is installed.

So glad to have it back. I miss being able to personally feel where the old Botts Dots were on Redmond Way ;-)

The track beast has returned.

More impressions:

*You can hear the turbo whistle a ton more with the Zork tube
*It actually seems quieter around town - or very close to the same - compared to the bullet muffler

A few pics, then its time to get some shut-eye:
