Actually what happens is the metal flaking and burning off from the cylinders and pistons has to go somewhere. Think of a welding gas torch. When you cut metal with one it blast a stream of hot metal fragments behind you. The motor does the same thing sending this crap everywhere, it pumps through the system and you make one hell of a mess.

RSRS,

Did the previous builder install a crank-fired ignition or did he convert the distributor? Also, did it shoot a lot of blue flame on dc?

Stephen, photos????

Just curious. It's the same old technology I had on my first build.

Well, my son and I got it yesterday. Bought it in Chicago and got to Iowa and a deer ran in front of me. I had to have it towed 150 miles back home to find out not all the parts are ready for resell. So I am not sure what is going to happen.

Sorry for the hijack. I will try to find some pcs for you guys. Of the twin plug stuff, not the car.

It is fixable, but not all the parts are ready for resell yet. Heck, there are not even some numbers for the parts yet and most of the parts layout in Pet are not correct.

I sure hope you are refering the 997TT and not the deer! I have hit three here on the coast in the last 38 years, never in one of the Porsches however!! I really hate those F@#K's.

Sorry Doc.

Looks like the parts Kevin is waiting for may arrive today, with the turbo and remaining parts in the shop's hands on Tuesday with reported completion next week.
