Jim,

Glad to hear it's running again.

So what was the verdict? Was there consensus on what caused the bearing failure?

Improperly installed front oil cooler fitting resulting in oil starvation. There is a chance that the oil squirter near #5 was partially clogged as well.

Wow, how did they diagnose that Jim?

Also, I think your car would look great in that last picture if you had clear indicators. Are you allowed those in your location?

I guess it was arrived at by the oil level- not sure about the squirter- I never got a chance to see it with the insurance autopsy and all.

I know what clears are, but I don't know if I've ever seen them on a 930.

Music to my ears. I can't wait to get one. I'm parting out my heavily modded M3 to do that! Cognrats.

Well I've done a couple of modifications to the car, so I thought I would post a couple of pictures of them.

My intake setup in the rear fender well worked uh, less than satisfactorily. The shield didn't work properly, so I decided that we had to get the system back in the engine compartment, so we widened the opening for the intake duct in the sheet metal and got the 3" piping through and into the engine compartment. We'll see how well it works when the alignment is done.

The reason I need an alignment is a result of installing IA's RSR coilovers. I went with 600lb fronts and 800 lb rears. I hope to test drive the car some time this week.

Jim: Hearty congrats on finally getting it running and on the road. The video clip was fantastic...it sounded great. It must be exhilarating to finally have it dialed in. I see you put in a new steering wheel. I bought the same one...and like it.
