Here you go. These three pics are from the Porsche parts catalog.
If the car in question is an '87 or newer, you can find out if it is an factory car by contacting Porsche North America and get a certificate of authenticity. It may take a few weeks to get it but, at least you will know officially.

John....
I would pass on it, but not because it is not a real slantnose....which it obviously is not. The headlight motor and rods are so obvious that if you cannot see them, it is because they are not there. It's because their is no such thing as a bargain basement rebuildable P-car that is remarketable at a profit. I do this for a living.
If a Porsche has rust it is normally because it was hit an not repaired correctly and/or with the OEM zinc plated parts.
I think what you have here for $12K CAD is a grey market, accident repaired (probably a salvage title) poorly done slantnose conversion, probably in fiberglass. Nothing you can do will make the car whole financially FWIW. There is NO UPSIDE here.......and that is my gut talking after having owned and sold Porsches for 18 years (3 of them running the dealer here).
FWIW.........you said it runs ****ty...........here's some round numbers on the costs of these things in CAD $......
$15,000 complete "split the case" engine rebuild
Add another $7,000 if you need P+C's
$2,500 clutch
$1,000 alternator
$2,000 brake pads and rotors
$4,000 transaxle rebuild
$1,000 windshield and seal replacement
$500 per H4 headlight replacemenet
$200 per foglight
$2,000 per convertible top motor/gear assembly (there is two of them)
$2,500 new convertible top
FWIW.....
I have a 1989 930 cabrio for sale (last year and the only year of the 5 speed car).....124kms....complete books and records from day one.....no accidents....original paint.....new clutch, pads/rotors, tires, engine reseal, etc, etc, etc, it's on my site which you can get to by clicking on the RENNSPORT link in the sponsor section. $69,500 CAD......a "real" car......if you get lucky and end up with $45-50K in this thing it is still saleproof because 95% of the people will walk away from cars with stories and accidents. Crappy cars do not sell......if someone can afford $50K they won't buy a ****ty/rebuilt car......they'll buy a "real"car for much more....
If this thing was worth anything to anyone in the Porsche market it would not be for sale at $12K CAD.

Here are three more pics. The headlight arms are covered by composite or fiberglass covers. The perlon mat is special mats with modifications to allow for the headlight arm covers.

Not sure if it helps, but I took a shot of the underside of the lights when it was up on the hoist last month. Hard to see (and it's a DP, not factory), but interesting (to me) nonetheless.

You guys have been really really helpfull. Thanx.
I'm goign to get my old man to take a good look at it after Xmas.
I have had some Porsche experience as well. I currently own 3 and have had a few more in the past, but again, I'm not the most technical guy. Typical car salesman. lol
basically, the owner of the car has a huge collection of vehicles. We're currently doign a Twin Turbo kit on his 2002 NSX Convertible show car and he is interested in just trading the 930 over to us for the work done on hsi car. If we decide not to take the 930, than we will fix the 930 and whatever is wrong with it and get paid for the job done.

Glad to find this thread. I just bought my fixer upper steel slant nose conversion. No center headlight motor, and no sticker under the hood. Needs so much work, but I love it already. I will learn along the way.
Are there choices on the side rockers? I'm not fond of these "stepped" ones.

CAporsche,
Your front spoiler/valence appears to be aftermarket. I think those were designed so that the original Carrera fogs would fit in there. Factory Sonderwunsch Flachbau's used the early 924/944S fogs.

Thanks for the info. I did find out that the foglights should fit as mentioned, a test fit will be soon. Hope they fit nicely with the aftermarket valance.
I am (obviously) completely new to the Porsche universe. For the rockers, I looked at many images of slant nose cars, and almost all have the boxed rockers. What do the "standard rockers" look like?
