Default SOUND SYSTEMS

Show and tell, I plan on doing a pretty serious upgrade from stock, utilizing all McIntosh components ie headunit (love the retro look) and amp, with ADS speakers and an iPod on the aux in, what sub are you guys running. Please post pics if possible.

[QUOTE]2) Dynaudio 8" Subs in custom rear deck

Lexlyf: Do you still have that placed number? I lived in Silver Spring, MD, and need to get mine done. If possible, can you upload some pictures? Thanks

Not clear on what you mean by "placed number?" If you are asking for the # of the shop that completed the work, I wouldn't be able to forward it, as the custom fiberglass rear deck was already in the car when I purchased it.

I do, however, know of a couple of car audio shops that I "swear" by, who are more than capable of performing this work in the Wash Dc Area.

PM me for details.

Just finished installing my new system:

-- Alpine head (mp3 cd)
-- Alpine iPod connector (allows you to control the iPod from the Alpine Head, while charging iPod, and leaving it hidden away in the glove box, etc)
-- Alpine 5 channel amp
-- Boston 120 watt 6.5" door speakers (sound AMAZING)
-- Boston 12" sub behind driver's seat (the bigger the sub, the less space needed for the enclosure, so it's nice and flat and sits upright on the floor behind the seat, facing forward.

Jeff could you please post some pics of the sub behind the driver's seat. I considered the alpine but I am going with the McIntosh instead since it looks in line with the period ironically I am installing a U2 special edition iPod because it matches my interior trim perfectly.

Here a pic of my radio in the dash.

I moved the A/C controls there since I didn't listen to the radio, only the engine...

I know the engine sings but the tunes are a must for tearing up asphalt on quiet weekend mornings. I think my days at the track are over I get my thrills flying now, can't afford the time to pursue both.

If you enjoy flying related thrills, checkout www.aircombatusa.com. I did it with my brother in November. Sick stuff.

I do not pass the 250lbs weight requirement. When I played Division 1 football I struggled to make the 225 mark as a fullback, 16 years later staying below 280 is the struggle.

A question for those of you running a BIG amp or a couple of amps, how are you getting around the marginal fuse blocks/charging/electrical system in our 930's? Everything I read says the charging system and fuse blocks are already over stressed. Thanks for any heads up as I want to put in an after market system. Also will 6 1/2 speakers work in the door instead of 5 1/4 without cutting? I have an 87 if that matters. Also I'm up for any ideas for sub woofer placement.

Thanks

Lane
