Default 1978 930 Stalls out after warming up; starts up again after cooling

my 1978 930 has a new problem: it starts up cold just fine, but after warming up it stalls out. It won’t turn over again until it cools down. It’s not an idle adjustment problem. I’m thinking it may be the WUR. Any advice on how to diagnose/solve this problem? Is there an easy way to test the WUR to see if it’s faulty (other than replacing it with an expensive new one)? Any advice on the best deal/place to pick up a WUR for a 1978 930?

Sounds like it may be fuel accumulator issue. If they go bad, they lose pressure and can't make warm starts difficult.

Default Accumulator issue?

I thought of that as well; I understand a faulty accumulator makes warm starts difficult... but would a faulty accumulator also cause an engine to shut down once it’s running?

For me it was the green distributor wire.

Good point...faulty fuel accumulator would not cause shutdown when running. Your fuel pump relays could act up when they are warm. Have you tried replacing them?

Have seen aging/failing overboost relays exhibit these symptoms.

probably a faulty fuel pump. Some models
have 2. So check this. Usually the turbo.
As the pump warms up it faulters.
Best way to check is to swap out with new
pump.
