Have you been to a 356 Registry gathering lately?

I couldn't get more than $9500 for my '86 black/black 911 targa in 2010 in Atlanta. It seems like everywhere I look, the prices of Pcars have gone through the roof. Did everyone suddenly get rich? Are these cars selling at these prices? What happened? I know there will always be some mint examples or cars that will command a higher price, but for a decent condition drivable 911 40k+? I was looking at 912s last night and the prices on those are sky high. It wasn't long ago, you could pick up a decent 912 for 6k in the Atlanta area.
Just read through this thread - https://rennlist.com/forums/911-foru...ed-bubble.html
Between that and several other threads, surely we don't need another one on the subject.

The prices have skyrocketed. But then again, so have the prices of new cars.
Repair costs have also skyrocketed lol.
Some buyers fail to think of this when buying these old relics.

I....for one, think $9500 for decent driving 911 was perhaps just as crazy than the $40k you are thinking it would be worth today and that's why I bought my 85 8 years ago. Even then though, I paid double your $9500 for it. Cheers
I'm really getting tired of rich guys and tax dodges.
I've just about given up on the Monterey auctions. Maybe.
I have to see if I can actually save money be putting my cars in a non-profit educational foundation. Then maybe I'll buy another car. Maybe.

Blog post regarding Monterey auctions. How goes the classic Ferrari market goes the rest of the market?

I've read both the Hagerty and Le Monde reports on Monterey. It's going to be a buyer's market for the next few years.
First though the sellers have to become connected with reality. That may take a while.

RS = rare and expensive (none imported into US adds cache)
Speedster = 356, 3.2, 964; all unique to themselves
RSA = easily the most overrated of the group. in fact if you compare production numbers of MY93-94 C2 manual coupes, there are less of these than there are RSA's here in the US. With the only real difference being a manual steering rack in the RSA, the premium is totally unwarranted in my opinion. FWIW I've owned a RSA (paid $19k for it) and now own a MY93 C2 manual coupe.

I love manuals steering but I've heard a few RSA racers actually replaced their manuals with a power rack cuz it has a quicker ratio and can max out th caster more with less effort
Yes same here.. Porsche in the USA were such dentist cars in the 80's and 90's where it was nearly impossible to find lighter driver cars cars with minimal options. 3.2 club sport being an rare exception
