looks like a good kit - and a good price

I would caution you that a 915 gear box requires some patients to shift or you get to see the insides while your wrench does a rebuild

post pics of the car and welcome
where are you located

I had a very bad experience with that company and advise you to stay away. Ridiculously cheaply made parts. Poor customer service. Lies. From their ebay feedback, I can see somehow they get good ratings, but maybe that is before the warranty expires.

i would encourage anyone who buys a new car to not be in any rush to change ANYTHING. just relax, learn your car and its idiosyncrasies (sp) . take your time to see what it needs vs what you want to give it. make sure there are no bugs in it and learn how to drive it. Basicaly establish a baseline

Then go from there...

too many people buy a car and immediatly go changing stuff to make it better .. have problems then have no baseline to work from .

Im from Melbourne Australia, I work in a exotic car dealership so im pretty familiar with driving porsches of all ages,

Deutsche parts feedback is 99.6% positive but i have also read many bad stories about them, being just shift kit i cant see what could go wrong with as compared to control arms etc,

how does the oem short ****er compare say to the weltmeister,

A short shifter can hasten the death of an older transaxle. Make sure your bushings are up to snuff, and learn to drive a 911.

I would not touch that crap no matter what part of the car it is intended for. They are on par with URO Parts.

I took a second look...it looks like s factory SSK in the pic - is this something they make from scratch and it is of sub-standard materials / quality?

IDK

BTW - noob...you might check your car, it might have a SSK already...know how to tell?

I have an 82 911SC. It is a Euro car also. I installed the OEM short shift kit and replaced the linkage bushing at the same time. The linkage was not easy to install but I was able to do it. The linkage bushing was inexpensive only because I had a freind with a press to remove and reinstall. The linkage adjustment took me the longest as it is rather touchy for a smooth shift. Moderate increase in shifting effiort that was worth it to me. Tom

Had one for my 951 from them and it was a piece of ****. The quality is no where near where it should be. Mine broke after 100 miles of use ( of course i was nowhere near home where the factory parts could be put back on ) So the $200 shift kit ended up costing me that much in a tow to the house. Called the company but didn't really want a replacement. I've learned - buy quality parts from quality companies.
