Hey Guys,
I'm new here. I'll introduce myself and my car in a bit, but I was hoping you guys could quickly answer a question for me. I need the release handle for the convertible top on my car. It's a 1986 911. The part number LA Porsche Dismantler gave me is 911.565.075.62. Is that correct? He also wants to charge $50. I have no idea if that's a good price or not.
Thanks for the help.
Danny

Don't know the cabs, but a quick search on Pelican Parts indicates that part number is for the "Targa - Cabriolet Top Handle, Black" and that the new replacement is significantly more than $50 (like 3.6 times more):

I found this as well... http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...65-075-41-M100
But that says it's only good for Porsches up to 85. I didn't know there were any major changes between '85 and '86.

Mine is a manual top '88 and I thought it was all the same part all the way through the years for all targa and cabrios. Pelican makes me think otherwise. Yikes. ![surrender](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/surrender.gif)

I have no idea what happened to them. Didn't even realize they were missing till we took them to the body shop. This used to be my older brothers car.

Quick question. I need to get the top down and I need to do it without the proper release handles. Is there a wrench or something that can be used to release it without causing any damage?
Thanks
