78sc Refresh Part Deux
Quick update:
Driving car for a month or so after finishing body and basic mechanicals. Since then:
Replaced both crank window internals due to fatigue/failures
Replacing seat leather with NOS black perf leather replacements
To Do's:
suspension bushings, thinking about elephant racing kit (feedback welcome)
wear Nike dryfit shirts since I pulled AC
drive more and have fun
Amazing cars which I have always known but to literally pull one out thats been sitting for YEARS, do some minor mechanicals and have it run strong is fantastic.

Cool. My 78's been sitting for two years waiting for me to get around to head stud replacement. Can't wait to pull it out and have it run strong again.
You can't go wrong with Elephant Racing. As I recall, your plan was to give the car to someone. Are you sure that someone wants the stiffer ride?

that someone is my daughter and she is very focused on performance. The bushings are last on the list and I have remained tru to my non-concourse resto if you dont count the strip to bare-metal and build up again.......

Stay away from the Delrin and Neatrix stuff, is my counsel. More fitment required and too many complaints of squeaking.
ER's Polybronze are a wonderful design and quite simple to install. Hard to argue the wisdom of the metal-metal bearing surfaces backed up with polyurethane for compliance topped off with some zirc fittings for lubrication.

Seat Time
Seat Time........
new hides being installed. Amazing that the original foam is in great shape. The only thing I had to do was tack the wire drivers-side left seat bolster as it broke off, not doubt from drivers getting in/out

new hides installed. Looking at the original 30+ year patina vs. the new leather is very different. To be fair new hides shot outsiide lots of light and old seats inside, just flash. I wonder if in 30 years my daughter will be replacing the seats again

Finished.......
first attempt with EOS t3i so take it easy. Had to resize down to 25% to load. Not a trophy winner but I think a very nice Driver. For those keeping score I really like my registration sticker this year 9-11
