Nah! I went inside and hammered out some lettuce wraps, egg drop soup and rice. Bam! Dinner for five.

Wow, man. That's amazing.

You cook for the kids!

And the car looks pretty spiffy too.

Honestly not much for updates. The garage was getting overrun with crap and I decided to build cabinets for the place. After that, a bench, now even though that gives me the green light to start again since I have the room, I'm also halfway through a rose trellis and a fire pit.... Not to mention work has been an overload for months now.

I've been thinking about how to refabricate the left corner clip. I've also looked into getting a mold to make multiple parts since I know of two others that are looking at that part as well. The bug is back in my ear to get started on the thing again. More news in the next few weeks.

My first "parts and peices" build was a 65 Vette. No nut and bolt that I didn't put together. I paid for machine shop time eg .030 over bore but bought tools and learned all the other stuff. I had a wonderful time. Daughter didn't learn how to work on cars but did learn how to swear (dooh!)

Yes, I still have it. Had so much time and money in the car I'd starve before the ineveitably loss I'd take.

It is on a lift above another toy and has been down only about once a year for the last 20 years.

The fun was in building it, not driving it. Which I think mgiht be pertinent in two ways: 1) Enjoy the build, and as to originality 2) there is a reason they don't make them like they used to. Build it with a view towards drving it-not orignal like I did. Course I wasn't starting with something obscure.

Beautiful wok and you are kind to share. Have fun with it. And the kids won't be young in a few years when this project hasn't really changed.

Let the rock throwing for encouraging a slow pace begin!!!

Best regards, js

Well Ed, no the car didn't vaporize, however I've been busier than stink on a skunk and just had to reevaluate and rewrite my mission statement. So I've be back on the Targa project. Still a little perplexed about the front left corner forming. My final solution was to get all the related parts and have a good fit test to make sure I don't weld up the body wrong.

So I've also bought a pair of FGlass front fenders "R" style from TRE Motorsports. along with the turn signal lenses and other parts associated with fender connecting as well. I also picked up a RS rear bumper. Now in the photo, the parts are not fitted but rather mocked up just to give me a little boost of enthusiasm.

I'm also sending the struts off tomorrow to Rebel Racing to get the spindles raised as well as add a bump steer kit and metal bushings. Not sure about an adjustable spring arm. I think I can get by with using my stock. How often do you really adjust the rear ride height?

I used a local radiator place to clean the varnished gasoline from the fuel tank, they blasted the exterior and sealed the interior.

Picked up a blasting cabinet from harbor freight for $119. Can't beat that!

Anyways, only one picture today. I wrote this in the evening on my iPad and apparently I can't see typo's on that thing so I came back to edit it this morning….

Ok one more photo but loading these on the iPad is a PITA. The lights are H1's with lenses without the small glass veins that help disperse the light. I think they look pretty good this way. I'm not sure how it reduces the lighting not having the veins but we'll find out.

Those H-1s look like huge versions of the 100w airplane landing lights that I installed on the 914-6.

Is this gonna be a SWB car? Cutting those fenders and install the light frames? That seems to be the rage nowadays....
