At 16K you shouldn't get hurt---provided the PPI gives it an excellent bill of health--the leak down test,
head stud inspection, and gear syncros are the biggies. Prior to plunking down cash, check the cost of potential repairs of any items which could reasonably show up within the next year. Add that figure to the amount you are willing to pay now then ask yourself if you will still be satisfied a year from now with the car with that much sunk cost. It woulld be a tragedy if you have over 20K sunk cost in a year. There are plenty to choose from. Patience and PPIs are the key to happiness in the used 911 market.
