The 918 Spyder at the Detroit Auto Show.
I actually am excited about this car. Its been what....10 years since Porsche made a car that I was excited about.
And in other news: have you guys read the latest Excellence? I don't even know when mine arrived, but I cut open the plastic bag today and leafed through it. Ruf V-10, restored 911T, etc....will be a fantastic read I'm sure.

Indeed. I watched the press conference on this car when it was unveiled in Detroit. Matthias Mueller is pro-Motorsports. Pat Long seems to confirm this. The only downside, maybe, is they will have a new "Group Motorsports" boss. I just hope egos and politics dont hinder Porsche's progression in racing.

What struck me about this is the doors. Seems like the hinges and general angle of opening leading to your ingress/egress is about the same as the 910. I'd like to think I'd be instantly home climbing into one (like that'll ever happen), but something tells me I wouldn't even know how to start the thing without instruction.

The article was referring to Porsche's return to Detroit, for the Detroit Auto Show. I wonder if the designers will actually let the car be run in both gasoline and electric mode? Those combined HP numbers are frik-ken stupifying!!!!
And note the engine is a V8. Hmmmm...and it's not turbocharged. Doesn't need to be.
".... The direct-injection V8 gasoline engine alone is good for 563 horsepower at an ear-splitting 10,300 rpm. When combined with the two 75-kilowatt electric motors — one for each front wheel — total vehicle power leaps to an incredible 767 horses. These motors also give the car the benefits of an all-wheel-drive system complete with advanced torque-vectoring capabilities...."
