That is a nice VID, but Getaway in Stockholm is my alltime fav.

I mean think about figuring that course out in this city....sheesh.

i was the same til i went to Eastern Creek, was very fun to watch, and to see what people did with normal production cars and few restrictions (bar the use of semi slicks only..)

+1
would love to see someone document their RWB build (in a language i can comprehend! haha)

Hold on Whalebird, I am a S2000 owner and been a Porsche 911 owner over the past 35yrs. The S2000 is a well engineer car and some these aftermarket tuners have been able to accomplish alot with that little 4 cylinder engine.

No offence. A S2000 is a really neat car and I am sorry to see them go. I would love to see a rear drive platform in Honda's line up again.

No offence taken, and I agree with you, I would like to see a rear drive platform back in Honda's line up again.

Thanks for the vids WB. That's the best one i've seen of the ring...gave me goose bumps!!

You're right about the marketing...a bit strange, and certainly not the way to spark enthusiasm...line starts here?????? They've better learn to become a lot more humble if they want to have a chance. BTW, silicone **** are also cosmetic and most guys like them....super wide fenders on the other hand are not as popular. Sorry, that didn't make sense. I must still be thinking of STELLA.

I'm not really that heartbroken that people aren't buying. This is something that I have decided was worth the expense, and I just wanted to share. It may not be everyone's cup of tea and I can admit that. It may be a generational thing, IMO. I, in my 20's, find this car unbelievable to look at, whereas some of the older forums members just don't care for it, and that is their right. Also, from this informal study and PM's I have received, that theory seems to be supported. I'm not saying that is a hard and fast rule, just the tendency has been that younger owners find this look more appealing than some of the older owners; that's all. To me, the best looking Porsches are the turbo bodied variety, so what not exaggerate that feature, slightly?

Again, people may not like the way I went about throwing this out there, but like these cars, it was in your face and unforgiving, which consequently, may not be everyone's cup of tea either. I won't apologize for that, I may take some abuse, but I'm a big boy, I can take it, and people are entitled to their opinions. At least I can say that it did become something to talk about; positive and negative, and that's what this is, a discussion forum.

Scottie, We are a rather old school DIY bunch of guys here. We'd rather die than let some stranger touch our babies.

The way I see it and I think lots of others must see it the same way. We have an old asian guy here in town who has spent the last many years restoring the mistakes of the past. He spent the 70's and 80's putting on wide bodies and long noses. He was the king of the slant nose. He made more RS fenders than God.

Now, guys are signing up months in advance to have all that crap cut off. He has decades of work to do with no end in sight. Everyone wants original. That, and silver RSR longhoods. My point is that in california we all have memories of Mullholland International Raceway. We all think retro. Our cars take us to a point in the past when carbon fiber and viagra didn't exist. Didn't need it.

Truth be told we'd all rather spend a day in the videos below, than being told that were aren't in the in crowd if our deck lid isn't CF. I'm telling you, the past is the future.

hey scottie....i'm an old guy, still love muscle mods & 2yrs out of a (575rwhp) cobra. now america roadster sold - it was nice (great for road trips but a vert with 250 at the crank will not be missed ), & as we are now 90% committed to moving back to japan likely go into highly modified 911....(not sure can afford rwb) or strong contenders would be mid 90's skyline twin turbo, alfa romeo gta (early 2000's, outstanding from 1st hand experience).

i have been a rwb fan since i 1st went to japan (1996) & became familiar with tuner market - culture there, substantially different & deeper than USA....and
rwb's founder & the sub contractors/suppliers that work with him are a big part of it.

good luck with your build, no question it will be outstanding.....there is no way this guy would lose face offshore. ( gombatte, ne...anato-wa, nihon go hanashimaska?)

Amber...thanks for the Mulholland referance. I myself learned a lot reading that epic thread over on pelican. It's a whos who of road car racing. Tuner culture was born in S. cali.
I am prolly one of the younger contributors here at >40. I advocate all automotive enthusiasm but am steeped in a correct/thourough and traditional understanding. I certainly have my opinions and expect no one to agree with me. A discussion it is, and I welcome any and all discussion. Lets keep this thread alive - a good one it is, as long as we can wobble between beer and Ford Fairlanes. Who knows, whateveryoucallhim-sei may come to south cali and find influence. A good run at Bonneville might do him some good.
